Apex School of Motoring is one of Medway’s longest established independent driving schools providing a first class service since 1982. Prior to this the owner Mick Jones trained and worked for the largest national driving school in the UK and then for one of Medway’s most successful independent driving schools. With this experience he then went on to establish his own successful driving school, Apex. 

Apex School of Motoring has been based in the Medway Towns throughout its 25 year history and unlike many of its competitors can truly say it is a business with its roots firmly planted within its community. The importance of which is that its owner is not only a very familiar personality within the Medway Towns but is equally well known among those involved in professional driver training.Consequently, Mick has now taught in excess of three thousand people to drive most of who have been recommended to him by friends and families of previous students.

Apex School of Motoring’s Mick Jones’ success rate is way above the national pass rate and is double the first time rate. Mick Jones has been a qualified driving instructor for over 25 years. He has one of the highest driving test pass rates in the Medway Towns, and has the figures to prove it. Just ask and you can verify them for yourself – you’re welcome to check them should you wish. Very few instructors have such a proven track record in getting learners through their test quickly, safely and, more often than not, first time round.

Learning to drive with Apex

We offer a structured course, following the Driving Standards Agency syllabus to practical test level and beyond.

We also teach the Pass Plus/Motorway syllabus if required.

Our instructor gives honest assessment and progress feedback at the end of every lesson.

We provide in car theory training if required, including hazard perception.

All lessons with Apex are focused but relaxed one to one tuition with no shared time. Unlike many other driving schools, we don’t short change you by using your lesson time to drop off or pick up the next pupil.

You’ll get a full 60-minute lesson – or more if you’d like to learn through block bookings or an intensive course.We’re highly flexible and can cater for your needs.

Our instructor is polite, patient, knowledgeable and experienced. He’s both reliable and punctual, as well as a non-smoker.

What are the facts?

The national driving practical test pass rate is currently 43%, which includes all tests first, second or third time round and so on. The first time pass rate is well below 30%.
